6 things you will never see driving own car in SF.

I realized that blog keeping is not easy as you think about it. Before i though, that i can post a blog every day, and theoretically it's possible... But...

I think I need to change the format of my blog writing and just blog it as much as i can, not as much as i want, it's just like that i'd like to drive latest Audi S5 coupe, in fact i'm still driving (in a context of using) MUNI and Caltrain.
But from another perspective riding every day with public transport is allow me to discover new things i never seen before.

Driving your own car you will never observe:

  1. Drunk people puking on your car early morning at 7.30 am I'm curious when the drunk ass start to drink to be totally done at 7.30 (i imagine me drunk at early morning, but couldn't find reason can cause it :) no way)
  2. Full car of people with iPhones ONLY.. Folks, sure I'm a fan of iPhone, because it's awesome, no just because of the fact that almost everyone is holding iPhone, but there are so many other nice mobiles, like Samsung with Android 4.0.4 (looks like tech blog, huh? :)) ) but still ... Seems i know that's the reason of iPhonomania over the world... It's because they are producing it for average person in USA, and I'm emphasizing USA (not world) because, frankly said, i don't think Apple care about others... While rest of the phone vendors are trying to cover all world with affordable smart mobile phones, Apple just hypnotizing USA citizens, don't get me wrong, but all they need is simple usability, and Apple is giving it to them.
  3. Another scene you will never see in your car, it's people with water bottles... I swear guys, every another american is holding water somewhere in a bag, in backpack, pocket... Guys, seriously? it looks like you are living in desert and scared to die w/o water... Strange...
  4. Make up salon for women people in bus. Every morning I can see how the same Asian ladies are doing make up (full make up, and the only they are not, it's hair drying :)) ) Dude, wake up 10 mins earlier... Insane...
  5. American Slang, it's the best experience i can have in the bus. So nice, (seriously, no sarcasm at all) to hear different accents, slangs. I really enjoy how black people are talking, it's kinda different, and unique, and the content is different... Now i can understand better the all stand-up comedy shows of Eddie Murphy, he did back at 80s (btw: lot of people are calling him the worst actor of last century, but he is AWESOME, and you better to keep your mouth shut up MFs, he ran his comedies, when you still peed on your pants) So, back to context, they are talking so interesting, and they have charming sense of humor.
  6. Listening Radio, it's the best you can have in public transport in SF, no many nice radio stations, but my favorite one so far is the 99.7 MHz FM, every morning from 8-10 am, two local DJs are performing show and playing cool playlist, (perfect for jogging if you sporty guy) Name of Show is "Fernando and Greg. Seriously i recommend it to all of you guys, it's cool mix of humor, news, political news, boheme news and dance music... I wish all DJs in soviet republics could run so awesome show. Guys are talking like super duper standup comedians, fast, smooth and polite (even they are making dirty jokes) at the same time. don't miss it  every morning on CBS local

Day-2. Shopping it's like "The Beatles" Always on trend

Today i'm gonna talk about shopping in USA, particularly in SF. Guys, Shopping is one of the most popular hobbies for at least 60% population of California.

But let me start from the beginning...

There are two type of EATERS in USA

1. Who are eating organic food

2. Who are eating everything If you are street EATER, you are probably eating everywhere, and everything...

Guys, do not eat much, you need to have compassion to the animals you are eating, since im almost sure that some sossages contain Where are you buying your clothes? Ross? you are probably Student, low budget or just moved to USA (nothing personal guys, I'm doing a lot of shopping in kinda shops)

Macy's ? You are middle or upper middle class USA resident, probably with 67.000 up to 120.000 $ gross annual salary. one more think, you are avid coupons hunter, since you know where and when you can buy exact item. when it's 30% and on top of everything, you are giving another discount coupon for extra 20%.

And it's all you need in San Francisco! (my quote)

Day-1. Restart. New Days in SF & Bay Area The Best place to live if you geek

Hey folks. I truly apologize for this long delay. I remember i promised to post a line a day at least, but still was a crazy busy with logistics and setups here in California.

i realized that it's different to be tourist and local here. When you tourist, you can't actually feel all difficulties living in USA, because you are tourist, and being an Armenian in particular, since if you are Armenian in USA, especially in California means you have at least couple of buddies, who will organize your all needs.

... including BBQ, party, pub crawling and so on.

But imagine, you are move to work and live here... Let me tell you something guys... It's 180 degree flipped world. People are not considering you as a guest, so you can't really expect that they gonna spend a lot of time with you, which is totally understandable because of totally different life style. I used to have relaxed life style in Armenia, and because i worked with Canada (at Macadamian Technologies) i had a a bit shifted working schedule, and taking into consideration that i lived 5 mins on walk from office, i could always sure that i'm not gonna be late. Not in United States. need to noticed though that i was lucky that I'm in SF bay area, which is THE BEST place in entire USA from the logistics and transportation point of view. Really THE BEST.. They have caltrain (which takes me to Bay Area) they have metro or tube or subway (not the Sandwich place with Best Avocado inside :))) ) (as they called it here), cable car, buses, trolley buses, Bart and some other types i never explore. The good thing is that all you need is a Clipper Card...

And all this makes your life easier, but still i need a ride for 20-40 mins by muni transport, after 20-30 mins on Caltrain to get to the Silicon Valley, another 20 mins of walk, and here we go! I'm at work, Exciting , isn't it?

... Overall 60-80 mins , which means i need to wake up early morning to make sure I'm on time. Anyway, it's interesting experience, gonna digging deeper, to see how it works... P.S. - I don't forget that i need to back to the Kardashian Story as i promised on my previous blogpost

Day-24. Los Angeles. Hello little Armenia.

After amazing 24 days in Denver and in Colorado generally (which is amazing place to live and I'm going to back to the Colorado periodically, hope my friends will not be surprised :)))) Seriously, it was amazing 24 days, lot of nice places, full of kind people, and here we are.

I'm in DIA, United airlines waiting for my checking to send my bag, and i was bit surprised that i need to pay 25$ for just one piece (damn it, SouthWestis does the same for free...)

Lady on desk asked me: Cash or Credit Card? And it was a first time when i said cash! Usually, i'm paying with card, but this time was exceptional and lucky one... Lady told me that she is not gonna charge 25$ because cash receive check machine is not working and she can't really print it out :)))) I made a seriously sad and upset face to express how deep i disappointed :)))

And here we go, i'm in LA, California, where people are planting money trees on Beverly Hills, to water them with water from Malibu and spend money in Rodeo Drive (i need to copyright this quote... otherwise Apple or Google will do it :)))) My cousins met me on airport and we went to Sharman Oaks, LA Metro. I will tell you more about LA in my next post...

Next post announcement, how i met Kim Kardashian and Wesley Snipes...

Day 21.22.23- Nothing matter but kindness of police

First of all i'd like to say sorry for my thousands of readers around the world:)) I became a bit lazy (or as i studied in school "couch potato")...

Seriously, there was nothing extra ordinary last days but... 1. We were in Boulder, which was a pretty and nice city, full of students and ladies who are wearing short shorts with boots, weird... They think it's cool :) Well might be that it's cool, but in this case with the same coolness i can dress flippers, tuxedo and hat of native american :)) nobody cares though what you are wearing and nobody gonna tell you what bad taste you have :))

2. The second i'd like, was a boulevard of Boulder city, which reminds me Arbat (in Moscow, Russia), La Rambla (Barcelona, Spain)or Northern avenue (in Yerevan, Armenia). People are walking, enjoying the cool evening (btw: before i used a definition of "cool" to explain people:) now I'm doing step forward or back :)) to add another meaning of the same word to my vocabulary. Groovy!!! (another adopted word from Austin Powers)

3. And the last but not least what happened to us (maybe one of the memorable moments) We were stopped by police!!! But let me start from the beginning. Since it was quite late time and all or almost all shops were closed (FYI: for those who think that USA is 365/24/7) Guys, believe me, Yerevan is a much better; our shops are really 25 hours, and if you need to buy bread or cigarettes you can buy it anytime you need, NOT in United States, we decided to go over the Boulder hills to see how it looks like at the night time, and it was really nice, i should have couple of pictures somewhere stored, so will upload them as soon as i can. And on the way back we made a wrong turn and realized that it's one way road, which is narrow. My friend, not gonna tell his name, since he is very famous guy in Colorado (almost like a Leo Messi from Barcelona FC but in banking sphere :) I know he is gonna read this :)))), (who drove a car), made a "U" turn, to go back. And here we go, my dreams came true, police turned the lights ON, and claim to stop.

... PAUSE, ...sigh, ... Silence, ... The moment of the truth (I was able to hear the breath of everyone) ...Scary

I feel that you are a bit scared as we did, but want to tell you that it was a just my imagination :)))))))))) In reality, it was just a police officer, who approached to us. He politely knock the window, and asked for driving license... my friend, let's call him ARZ (all names are changed :)))) gave a license, and said what it happened accidently, and he apologize. Officer took the license and went back to his car to check the licence.

And imagine. 5 of us are sitting on the car and waiting for results, which look like when you are nervous to hear your name during the Oscar Award.:))) ... Silence, ...Seconds like a years... Suddenly, one of us start to forecast what's gonna happen. I'm not gonna tell her name, because she is a very famous doctor in USA, cardiologist. So, Marie (another fake name), started to shout: Oh, he is such a rat guy, he didn't give a chance to explain, he is so bad, he is gonna to give us a ticket, and maybe even arrest us, for incorrect turn. He is gonna give us a ticket. I'm gonna tell him how bad he is, and how rat he is, he is really YAXQ guy, i hate him. Need to note that only the ladies forcasted how the things gonna happen, while the gentlemen were calm and peaceful...

and he back, while he walked to our car, we were able to hear his steps. Suddenly, he asked me to show my driving license since i was next to the driver. With no losing any second i took a my shotgun, and kill the cop........ (just a joke, I'm just testing your attention to my story, to make sure that you are not sleeping in front of your monitor :))))))) the police officer was a sweetheart.

He just kindly warn us to be more careful next time and he didn't give us any ticket. He is even suggest us to call to insurance and make sure that they send every necessary documents. So polite, so nice, so kind policeman, i never meet respectful and full of compassion police over the world. He even gave us his business card with indication what we did wrong. As far as i know it's possible to give a feedback about: How they work. I would like to give a very positive feedback to this guy, who was so kind to us. We back home happy and full of good memories.

P.S. I'm driving quite good, hopefully, will be the same good in California as it was in Colorado.

Day-20. London Olympics 2012, Jasmine Breinburg and another experience in USA

Heeey, London Olympics 2012 are started. Wish to all Armenian athletes best IRISH luck, Can't wait to hear good news from any of them. Go Armenia, Go...

Opening ceremony was perfect, lot of lights, flying queen Elizabeth-II, James Bond, David Beckham, Muhammad Ali, hilarious Mr. Bean, and Mr. Hey Jude (Sir Paul McCartney)... Awesome... Also, I'd like the lady (Jasmine Breinburg)

who was dancing during the performance about "Digital Era" Oh babe, if you are reading this, you are w000w awesome, let's date when I'm in London:)))))))

It's pity that NBC didn't show well Armenian team during the marching in stadium. And the worst thing could happen was that all USA watched the previously recorded ceremony, guess why? Because cheap bastards from NBC are selling Ads with the highest price ever. someone told me that they sold Ads for 1 billion bucks

Another experience was related to checking post box located outside (on a street), and walking with a dog in a poo free zone, do you know what it means?, Yes :(( You are walking and praying that your dog will not poop on a grass of neighbors, otherwise you need to clean it LMAO and your doggy walking like nothing just happened :))) Hilarious and ridiculous (sound like a names of brothers from Island :))).

P.S. Driving is good with every new day.

Day- 19. California. Sushi and Craigslist

Ok, because last two days were less of events, i had a chance to discover how American system is working

Some of you will say: What a heck he is talking about? Let me answer. First of all let's talk about taxes in shops and supermarkets.

1. the prices in shops are labeled without including the taxes, for example: the cost for coke is: 69 cents, but after you take it and went to pay, the sellers (with elephant look face)are telling you that you need to pay 80 cents. Disappointing and confusing. Guys, let me open to you another cosmic true put the 80 cents on the label, will make more sense, Right?

2. People who are working in big supermarkets never aware about what is going on around, most of them don't know where is the chips, others, showing you wrong direction when you ask to show stand with a chocolates, Damn (sigh), guys do you have any training for all this dork people? Please give them some book about management at least.

3. They are not able to remember your face, even if you are buying some shits from them every 20 mins , daaaaaaaaaaaah, anyway, let's move on.

After I back home after another driving, i continue to look for an apartment in California, and because all of around are suggesting to use Craigslist, i open the page and start to search 1BR apt in California to rent. Duuuuude, it's double cost to rent a something in California, Denver, I love you, you are so nice and so affordable for people. Apparently, i need to keep diet to rent a 1 BR.

Last, but not least happened to me, was a awesome SUSHI place, with SAKE (Japanese alcohol drink, and yes, I'm more than 21, so i can do it, while some guys still asking for ID to prove that they will not lose own job). Man, it was something, i adore Sushi, I can eat them all day long... and the best rolls for me, guess what? California!, Some of sushi experts will sarcastically say: Oh, come on, it's just for beginners. Let me tell you something my dear experts: I will eat California, even I billioner, even if i have all the gold of

Fort Knox
in Kentucky, i don't give a shit about it at all:)))

So, the was over, tomorrow is London Olympics 2012.

P.S. Driving is good, doing shopping alone :)

Day-16 Shoot the Hooters

Yahoooooooooo, yesterday, we were at shooting place, where i saw so many guns, rifles, and other heavy armo. woooow, It was awesome, but at the same time a bit scary, because some visitors were there with own shotguns, and it was pretty scary to realised that everyone who is not crazy (or at least can cheat on a background check somehow) can have a gun. The place i used to grow is more strict to have a gun, while even in holy bible it's mentioned that every man should have a sword to protect own house. Well i can understand when you have one small gun just for protection, but having a big rifles, like in "Jackassl" (with Bruce Willis and Richard Gere in cast) it's a bit insane for me.

Can you imagine? :)) So, we took a Beretta 9 mm Compact, which is quite strong and classy gun

Right after the shooting i realized that i want one, but, still i believe, that "Gun is a EVIL" (Mama of Bobby Boucher from Waterboy)

It's impossible to explain what you feel when shooting, while it was not the first time for me, but still it's some strange feeling which always like it's first time, (shortest explanation is ADRENALINE)

At the evening we had nice walk in downtown of Denver, saw capitol. nice. So, after shooters we saw so many "hooters" and "cougars" (thanks god none of them bite me:)))) (sorry for my bad slang, I learned it from a streets) "KIDS, DO NOT REPEAT THIS WORDS< THIS IS NOT GOOD" (another "for report" notice just in case:)) We back home, had tea and coffee and i went to sleep after nice day and evening. P.S. - Still Driving, and was astonished when the guy from Japanese bistro didn't sell the alcohol while i showed him my national driving licence

Day-15 Crocs my malls

Not much things to tell from yesterday, since it was another relaxation day, with no major tours. Had a chance to visit one of the biggest malls in Colorado, which reminds me Dubai mall, but the last one was almost 3 times bigger.

Another surprise i have got, was about crocs sandals. Did you know what they are originally from Colorado State? I didn't. Before, i thought that they there invented in Europe. Because in Europe, people are passionate about wearing crocs. For those who don't know what crocs are about, see image:

So, after the surfing in Mall with unsuccessful attempt to find a kimono for my judo practice (apparently people in USA has totally different priorities in sports in comparison with Europe)

i gave up. P.S. Besides driving, i'm learning how to make to do a shopping in grocery etc (approaches here a bit different again)

Day-14. Ferrari Enzo in Boulder city with Forrest Gump

and here we go, another weekend and we are driving to Boulder, which is university city of Colorado, full of nice people. The things i like about Boulder it's people who are dressed calm, relaxed and colorful. Often, you can meet hippie style dressed students, which reminds me old movies, like "Forrest Gump", remember this episode?
We walked all day in Boulder, made a pics, and visit "hand reading" lady, who was iranian, and played a very nice scene of being palmist :))) I like her serious face, and the way how she said, "i can fell the energy of you" it made me smile:)) After spiritual session, we moved to riding small karts, which was really fun, because before we started we saw only little kids there :))) RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (sound of engines) and Start, 7 people over 25 are riding a kart, real racing, no tickets for riding, no accidents are consider, just drive and win. Need to mention though that some of racers felt as they drive red Ferrari Enzo in Hollywood boulevard, slow, and fancy :) We back home tired but with a sense of another great day in Colorado. P.S. Continue to drive and feel a progress myself, driving more relaxed, with more details considering while driving, and so on

Day-13 Shopping is a like Zombie

Shopping is like a zombie, it always back :)))) Ask any american resident woman. If they have free time and have own car to ride - no way to avoid shopping. Target, Costco, TJ Max, Ross, Best buy, Walmart, GAP, VS, and hundred other names i was not able to remember. You can find anything you need here. And the price in different shops are fitting to your expectations, depends what do you really need and depends how much salary you have.

After Shopping i had a another driving lesson, which was cool, (as usual)

Tolma for dinner, what can be better? For those who don't know what the TOLMA is? Tolma is a traditional ARMENIAN dish (chopped beef and lamb rolled with grape leafs) and beer, what can be better. The only evening walk over the Denver downtown. So many nice faces, people, good mood, nice and short dresses, and we have another drink there, talking, discovering new culture and etc. The only one thing is spoiled this perfect day in Colorado, the sick motherfucker, who shoot the people in movie theater, innocent victims of crazy bastard, who killed a people with NO reason. R.I.P. to all victims.

Day-12 GYM and Appleebee's

The day 12 was pretty much similar to day 11, which i spent in GYM by running and burning my extra weight. Interesting but i never care about my weight when i was in Yerevan. Apparently, influence of society is dictating what to do, because i starts smoking less (almost gave up) start to balance my weight and so on.

At evening we finally consolidated our efforts to go somewhere. and a choice was good one, since we found nice and calm place (with a typical interior of USA sports bar) where we had a beer and meaningful conversations about future, nostalgic memories from the past, and beer present:)

By the end of evening we meet old lady, who was curious about the languages we spoken. And when we told her that we spoken either Armenian or Russian, she was nicely surprised what we know at least 3 languages, yeah, that's the pretty part of being former Soviet culture re-presenter. (some of americans still have stereotypes about Soviet Union/ Russia, and if you are telling someone what you are somewhere next to Russia, people are starting to express compassion about how cold are they :))) my friends, go tho the north of USA and Welcome to Canada :))))

Thursday, July 19, 2012

Day-11. Couch potato day, or let's go to the GYM

Well, after 10 days of intensive tours to the different places of Colorado, i had a relaxation day yesterday. Did absolutely nothing but relaxing, and because i was so bored after couple of hours, and even fast speed internet couldn't buy-in me, we decided to stop eating all day long and finally started healthy active live style. So we went to the Trails GYM and spent a 3 hours.
I liked the most that the people in USA are crazy about healthy life style, and even 193 years old people who are hardly moving them self are visiting GYM at least once a week, Wooow, (I wish people in Yerevan could live so) So after jogging for a 40 mins and doing some hiking simulator practice, i was full of energy, and ready to repeat everything i did. Obviously i have overestimated myself, because after running, i was so tired, and looked like an ice skaters after performance (when they are sitting on bench, and look like dogs with tongue out :))) ) Thanks there was a steam cabine there, and I have decided to burn my fat (calories) in shorter way. :) (Especially, cuz i had a tons of sauna and steam room sitting experience from my Judo times), oooh, good times, i miss this time when i was young, strong and handsome like a George Clooney:))) We back home, had a awesome dinner, host a friend, who lost a arm-wrestling match to me and to all. He was a twice a big, but it didn't help him. :))) (i guess, he will read this soon, whatever :)))

P.S. Driving is better with every new day, i'm already thinking to buy a sport car, maybe a Ferrari Enzo

Day-10. Elitches Denver Garden

Not going to write long post for today, since I'm a bit tired after yesterday. We were at "Elitches Denver Garden", which was very cool place to have fun. Challenging rides, water pipes, waving pool, Xtream, etc. I was a bit scared before we started, because the last time i had a xream rides was at 2007, when I was young, handsome and tall :)))))) It was really exciting, we played games, i won some toys, and realized once again what i need to re-start my GYM and sport practices. After we were invite to friend's house to have a dinner, which was very very very tasty, and thanks for so warm hospitality!!! Finally we back home, tired but happy :) Sorry for the short post, really exhausted

Day-9. Peyton Manning, Red Rocks and E.T.

Yesterday, we had a trip to
Red Rocks
Colorado, which is the big area in desert with huge rocks colored red. Those places we usually saw in western movies with cowboys

Nowadays, this big area is constructed as antic amphitheater for the different big events. Bands like Maroon5, B.E.P, and other famous groups are performing here time to time. Historical information: The Beatles legendary British rock group, performed first concert in USA at 1964 exactly here, in a "Red Rocks" Colorado.

On a way to "Red Rocks" we passed by "Cherry Hills" (the most luxury area to live in CO), which was pretty nice, with brick walls around to isolate people from the external noises, and make a place more safe.

As far as i know, the quarterback of "Denver Broncos" (American football team of Colorado) Peyton Manning is living there. For this moment the name of this guys is not giving any information, since i saw american football couple of times. Need to note that unlikely to Baseball, i like this game (Baseball for me make least sense, sorry guys, who like baseball, as in Godfather: nothing personal, it's just a business:))) Indeed, it was an awesome place, and there were around 3000 people there.

People came there with families, most of them brought compact coaches to sit, food in doggy bags, blankets and etc.

But before we had endtered, the security check us, because they restricted cans to go with, remember it was "No Cans Allowed" (only plastic bottles) and when i asked the security guy: why not? he answered: Because, you can injure someone with can, if you cut the can. We said OK and entered in. And miracle: after passing security we saw magic, coffee shop with exactly the same cans to buy:)))) (probably exactly those you left in entrance), smart supply policies :)))

Before movie started, couple of rock bands played a music to entertain big mass of people, after rock group, famous Stand-up Comedian from Colorado was invited to make a couple of jokes. Honestly, i didn't get most of the jokes, maybe they were location oriented, and as a new comer i was not ready to proceed them, anyway...

After we watched a movie: E.T. (some of you will remember funny alien, short like Danny Devito), little Drew Barrymore, she was sweetheart in a movie, really cute, that time (back to 80s) nobody knows what she will become RED HOT CHILI PEPPER:)) Those of you who doesn't know what is E.T.: open your browser, and google E.T., it's one of the favorite movies in USA, according to the IMDB, it's 7.9/10 rated, and won 4 Oscars, can you imagine?

I almost cried during the film, (:)))) I'm kidding, but some of people really cried during the film, it was nice and touching (and again, I'm talking like freaking Justin Bieber fan))))But seriously, it was nice to see. Means we still have sense, and we still have compassion and love.

After we back and had a TEA, which is not usual in USA at all, most of citizens in USA drink coffee, beer, milk, and just a few percent of population prefer tea, Strange. P.S. Had cool driving day, seems, i'm good :) I wish i could drive more in Armenia, but it's ok, i will catch up the time i misssed.

Day-8. Renaissance festival or cutting the grass

Ok, every year people in Colorado are organizing "Renaissance festival", which is a old style (Renaissance period) costume fair, where all residents of Colorado coming to spend nice time with friends and family. And "ta daaa" (sound) we are buying tickets in front of doors!!!

at the entrance, stood a girl dressed in the style of 16-17 centuries, in the tradition of the old England. checking our tickets she smiled she welcomed us and allow to get it.

And now we are in the new world, a world of knights, and feats, world of honor. Passing tramp who asked for alms, I watched as the actor was joking with all the passers-by, that is real stand-up, when the begger, like a sharper, has a jokes in a pocket for various occasions.

It was interesting and amazing how easily Americans are joking to each other, while sometimes jokes were under the belt. But it's fine, it's just a comedy show. finally, we approached to the shop that sold different dishes: hot-dogs, sandwiches, and the culmination of cuisine in the era of Robin Hood - goose's feet. It was something, tasty, big enough, desired food of any representative of the Caucasus. :))) I was able to finish just a 5/6 of all feet, while some people are able to finish 2 or even 3 pieces. Guys - You Rock!!!.

Next stop was at the station of illusions and tricks. and we saw how the guy ate a 2 feet sword, he even made a joke about himself, but one of jokes he made was a bit strange, he said "... and I'm straight" Not sure what he talked about but i keep laughing as others did... (just kidding :)) i got a point :))didn't you think i misconstrued the joke, did you?):))

We back home full of memories and emotions, and at home i meet another neww experience i always dream about - "lawn mower" I'm sure it's a bit old school classy word, so i will call it - "grass-cutter" (advanced Inglish wink-wink)

OOOOOOOOOOH, Man, it was quite difficult while berofe i thought that it's like "1+1" I had so bad hand shake after, like the guy with Parkinson syndrome, and the quality of cut grass was like after the head of man after visiting starter level of hair stylist:))) short and not straight:))) The day was over with glass of beer on the patio on backyard. P.S. had a car driving day and seems day by day i'm polishing my new skills :)

Day-7. Pool party with friends

Hi there, Sorry for late post, since I had a busy day full of events. first I woke up early morning and made a breakfast for all. It's Strange but i started to drink milk, what i never done before. Anyway, like it. After breakfast i went with my friends to invited pool party, but before we had a small business to do, and it was a nice white car we picked up from another friend who own a car but living a bit far away. No need to explain how nice Acura TL, 2009 is.

We drive to another city of Colorado State, which was 56 mi (1.6xKM) away from the location I'm living. And here it is. Nice community, awesome country club house, pool, Jacuzzi, and looot of Armenians, very nice, educated, welcome and kind armenians.

I'd like to mention that, generally, the people in Colorado are very nice, smily, ready to help anytime you need. It's really surprising and i like the Colorado for being nice and tolerant about everything and everyone! Meeting Armenians was a really. Party was a specially organized to welcome me and another just arrived friend of them. It was so cute (sorry for so girly phrases, :)) sometimes, i sound like fan of Justin Bieber, :)))))

Traditionally we started with food, a loooot of food, and a bad part of this , that everything is very tasty, but afterwards you are getting new pounds (another complicated measurement). BBQ, brandy, cocktails, liqueurs, and tons of salads. But it was a first part of event. After couple of sandwiches we were ready to go to pool, and american water football started. Two teams, small pool, and loud team of friends played a game. Was a real fun. During the evening lady from Yerevan told us, what she is also keeping blog, which was interesting and unexpected, because blogging for us it's not the very typical, anyway, i'm gonna ask her to share own blog to see what is her experience of staying in USA. Gonna be interesting to find the differences between different age, gender and background people.

After the pool it was another BBQ (this time with chicken) and what is interesting i never know what americans like the chicken so much, or it's better to say i didn't know what they are eating chicken so much, it's fitting to my preferences :)))

After we had a nice toasts, talks about Armenia, about how is the life in lovely Yerevan, regular topic for armenians: political situation in Armenia and so on, Overall, it was so nice to meet this people. And i'm very grateful to them for organizing such a event for us. Thanks Guys You are AWESOME. in between of BBQ eating, i went to Jacuzzi, where I was a company person, like a cross between a jelly and sponge Bob. :))) (Sponge Bob - disaster of cartoon world) :)))

We back home at 23.00, i was in a good mood because of Cognac and Vodka shots (Kids, never do it, it's dangerous to your health) (now, nobody can sue me :)) i did a official announcement for record :)) ) and woke up early morning to continue challenging week in lovely Denver.

P.S. No driving lessons day at all, to brainstorming everything i learned before

Day-6. Fight club. Last Episode - Mojito

Yesterday was Friday. And T.G.I.F :)) but let me start from early morning. Woke up at 7.00 am and made a breakfast for all.

After breakfast we went to the park (somewhere in a downtown of Denver, next to Cherry Creek)which was perfect place for family weekends. Picnics around, some of young couples are walking with kids, playing board games, and so on.

We played a game as well, and spent a good time.

There was a toilet next to the park, the toilet cabin, which you usually see in movies, plastic toilet cabin, in the middle of the park, just in case you need something :))

And as a tourist i decided to get this experience as well.

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLNEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER use this toilet cabins, even if you feel that you die if you are not NEVER. It's smells like from elephant ass (metaphor), the most ugly smell i ever feel. In cabin, you feels like in hell, it's hot, because of plastic, and you are counting the seconds to leave it.

After this heave test i hardly passed, we decided to have a frozen yogurt. For those, who never had a frozen yogurt before, explaining: It's like a ice-cream, very yummy (another new word I starts using) very tasty, and after the hell it was a peace of paradise . I guess god was kind to me and showed unique compassion to the experience i had 20 mins before :))) So, frozen yogurt and chilling in cafe for 20 mins and i was happy, until the group of youngsters, or better to say monsters entered to the cafe, and monsters not because they looked ugly, just because the average height of 5 people group were: 195 cm (6.3 ft) yeah, i started to learn another world of measurements :))). The guys were nice, smily, but they smells exactly like "BASTURMA". For those who don't know what is this, Basturma, is an smoked and marinaded beef, which is taste perfect (especially if you are beer fan) but smells a bit bad.

i guess Satan tested me when i was in frozen yogurt heaven :)

After we back home and i took a another nap for 20 mins (my friends will understand what i mean:))

And it's evening, Friday, 21.00, we are going to have cocktails somewhere with a big and noise group of family. First we decided to go to the downtown to have vodka shots in Russian open air cafe, which is top raked in Denver according to the number of people in front of cafe. And surely, we were not able to come in, because of tons of ladies with short-short dresses, and some guys around with funny shorts. (Need to mention that the guys here not dressed well, (the best dressed men in USA are leaving in NYC), sure, it's IMHO opinion, and i'm talking about average statistics.

After failing to entered to Cafe, we found awesome Mexican patio cafe, where i tried the best Mojito with Mango i ever had. Nice and calm breeze and Mojito with friends and family around, what can be better? Nothing. but because place closed at 23.00 we decided to have a walk tour in downtown. Downtown of Denver is nice, full of lights and colors, they have a nice boulevard, which reminds me "STARIY ARBAT", which is the oldest and most famous boulevard in a downtown of Moscow.

Slowly slowly we approached to the HAYAT hotel, whic has a gorgeous cafe on 27 floor with the best landscape view to entire Denver, and if you are going there at night time and stopping next to the big windows, you feel yourself as a character of the Edward Norton in "Fight Club", in the episode when the guys is standing next to the window and watching how buildings in front are falling down.

Another coffee there, chatting to each others, and another nice day was over. P.S. No driving day for yesterday, since we had a long day in park and it was very hot af the afternoon.

Day-5. Nostalgia

Yesterday was a calm and less eventful day.

We started our day with regular breakfast, which is not typical for me as well as for thousand Caucasian people. Having breakfast for me was never important for me, since i used to have the only cigarette and coffee every morning. But now, I'm waking up early morning and starting my day with breakfast. And even those my friends who are having breakfast every morning in Armenia, have totally different menu. (Usually it's heavy meal with meat) But from another perspective it's a good chance to balance eating schedule. Because my main ration was mostly ration of python (to eat once a day and finish a rabbit :)) )

Second, since we had no decided schedule for the day, we decided to go to the city center to have lunch, and to walk a bit.

Lunch over with another shopping which was challenging to me this time. So, westarted from the GAP, after it was another shop i can't remember the name, and finally (drums please), dream of every women, her majesty "Victoria's Secret" :)))) At first, i decided to wait next to the entrance, but after realizing that the shopping never happen in a short time, said, OK, I will do it...

Was a bit embarrassed to see how women look at me, but from another perspective it was reflected on their eyes: "It's so cute, he came to VS (not Visual Studio :) ) shop with gf/wife, he is sweet heart" :)) I wish, but actually it was a curiosity :)

OMG so different colors, styles and models, w00t...

maaaaaan
, Guys, let me tell the cosmic truth The underwears for gentlemen possible to classified as: "clean" or "need to laundry" LOL

Finally, we went to store to buy some coke, water (it's separate major topic for USA, i and will back to it one day for sure) and suddenly, i saw RUSSIAN shop with label: MADE in USSR

Damn, it was so cool, for a moment i felt myself back in 70-ss, while i was born later :)) Color, shocking, and the spirit of the Soviet way of life harmoniously blended in one store.

After we had a great evening in a patio, enjoyed the chill breeze and wrapped up to the blankets tasted a jasmine tea. P.S. My driving lessons are good, continue to practice every day.

Day-4. Shopping and Parking

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I had a shopping in Walmart yesterday. It's so big and so cheap shop, and some of my friends are spending almost full day to find everything they are looking for. The cheapest jeans i ever buy, just for 9.50 $ I never see so low price for a jeanses.

Another part of my day i was at school of martial arts, where the son of my friends is practicing some (odd for me, but anyway) "Israelian" Martial Art, I repeat "Israelian", Obviously, they are smart guys, they attract people to attend on a classes of Martial Art, which is not existing :) simply said it was a street fighting skills, but i like the approach of coach, which is teaching how to behave in case of emergency, like the approach that Americans injecting social responsibility to the people starting from childhood.

another part of day I was in Dogs' park, where we played with Rex and meet lot of others who did a same. Now i understand why do tenants forbidden to have pets while renting apartments, The point is that having pets at home is a common hobby for thousands of Americans. the funniest part was when we started to utilize the poops Rex did, was

hilarious...

After we back to home, and had a dinner burger, Yeah, note for those, who are living in Former soviet Union republics: Guys Enjoy your food as long and as much as you can. Will be the time when you will miss your natural beef, chicken, pork and rest of the food we eat every day and not realising that it's healthy. In USA you have two options: a) buy a food (which most likely contain bio-extras) and buy a ORGANIC

food, which we eat every day and don't appreciating. The difference between food and healthy food is in a range of 30-50% So eat and shut up :))) (Armenian national dish:))) )

P.S. Driving lessons are good, driving every day

Day-3. Impressions

Yesterday i had a full day of trip to Denver University. People, read my lips: Wooooooow!!! So nice, everything was well done organized, people are friendly, and saying hi around. Sure, some of you will think, what a heck do i need to see fake smiles around but i promise, when you see how people nice to you, you don't have any chance but be the same. Ok, Law school, Business School, very nice and old style buildings, students has everything to accomplish any goals they have. In other words i wish i could study there, but I'm old enough and a bit lazy now :) After impressive tour to DU i had a thai lunch with friends, nothing to tell in details here, just need to mention that they bring a iced water as soon as waiter took a order; small details, but it's important for any type of customer. Yesterday i met a lady, who was friend of my friends, she is american, talked very fast, but i'd like to tell the story which happened with her, but unfortunately, i didn't see it. So, my friend "H." meet "B." (lady) while i had a trip in DU, yesterday it was hot weather (around 36 Celsius, sorry for not using Fahrenheit scale, it's still too complicated for me:) ) and there was a dog of someone, who was in a building, and leave a dog on a street, attached to the light post. "B" became very angry, because there was no water for dog attached. she entered to the next cafe and ask all around who is the owner, and after long silence, (probably owner wasn't here, or was a chicken to argue with angry bird:))she contact to policemen, whom meet on a street, and she force them to take care about dog. Respect Lady!!! Another part of day i spent with friends in community pool, where people are coming with family and friends to have great time. Finally, i had a another driving lesson day, and learn that STOP sign has a label, and you need to read them

Day-2. Experience

Yesterday was a fun and full of different experience. Starting from Yesterday i'm practicing driving, i need to take lessons to pass the driving exam and get licence. So here is the result of my driving lesson number one. Driving in USA is EASY, especially if you are in a such a lovely and calm place like Denver it will be easy to drive car, because people are very tolerant (not counting the fat track lady:) but seriously citizens of Denver and Denver Metro area nice. You will not hear any noise, nobody is shouting next to your house, like it. Another thing i like here is the green landscape, really amazing, air is fresh, and you can feel it. Will See what's gonna happen during the day today. P.S. Saw a rabbit early morning in a backyard.
